Robert Kiyosaki Demands You Sell Your Heart Out

"In simple terms, if you can't sell, you're out of business. You may have the best product, best education and nicest office, but if you can't sell, you're history," Kiyosaki says in a recent Yahoo Finance column.
The 60-year-old has heeded that cold, hard truth, spinning one successful business into another until he established himself in the upper echelon of successful investors and public speakers in North America . The Hawaiian-born entrepreneur has been criticized for his promotion of high-risk investment strategies and for urging entrepreneurs to aggressively sell their products and services.
Kiyosaki, however, thinks a vast number of business owners want to do anything but sell. They want to focus on setting direction, producing conventional marketing campaigns, and creating their products rather than the difficult work of offloading those products from their hands into those of consumers. The truth is, every buyer has to be persuaded into exchanging his or her money for a ware. The amount of persuasion that's necessary varies in each case, but fundamentally someone has to do the persuading.
For many people, selling is an uncomfortable act. Kiyosaki, though, promotes it as an art.
"I know many people who vigorously protest the idea that selling is part of their jobs," says Kiyosaki, who lives in Phoenix and recently co-authored a book with Donald Trump. "Entrepreneurs cannot afford that luxury. Raising money is a function of sales ability. And ultimately, the success of every venture hinges on sales."
